Tools
- A Philips Screw Driver (if the old number plate is attached with screws)
- Degreaser/Solvent & a Rag
- Double Sided Sticky Tape/Pads
Start by removing the old plate from the vehicle, either pop open the plastic caps & remove the screws or just slowly pull away the number plate if there are no visible fixings.
Clean the surface as best as you can using some degreaser and an old rag, ensuring that the new plate will get a good adhesion to the vehicle.
I recommend you use at least 5 double sided sticky pads as you don’t want the plate to come away from the vehicle.
Start by placing the double sided stickies on the back of the number plate, leaving the backing tape in place, once all the stickies are attached to the plate you can then peel the back from the tape.
Hover the plate over the cleaned surface and when you are happy that the new number plate is central you can then push the plate onto the vehicle. Apply pressure to the plate for around 2-3 minutes to make sure the plate has stuck.
